    1. Techniques for characterizing thin films on solid surfaces:
    2. Established techniques for characterizing the chemical compositions, film thickness, contact angle, and microstructure of thin films on solid surfaces.

    3. Techniques for the measurements of dynamic interfacial properties of a monolayer at air/water interface:
    4. System has been established for simultaneous surface pressure and surface potential monitoring under various surface concentrations. Techniques are also developed to observe in-situ phase transition of monolayers by using fluorescence microscopy and image processing techniques. We are also skillful in preparing samples with its microstructure well preserved for TEM observation.

    5. Technique for dynamic protein adsorption monitoring:
    6. A system, which could measure the adsorptive mass change immediately and in-situ, is built for monitoring the dynamic protein adsorption behavior.

    7. Permeation analysis of hydrogel:

Part of the technique includes purifying, component analysis, and reconstruction of collagen. The microscopy technique of studying collagen microstructure and the method of measuring the hydraulic conductivity of collagen are well established by us. We have also established a theoretical model of predicting hydraulic conductivity of a reconstructed collagen matrix.
